If you’re looking for the upmost perfect dining experience, you’re in luck!
Prego Restaurant situated along Cambridge Street in Floreat, WA offers guests a truly exquisite and intimate dining experience serving a range of delicious Italian Mediterranean inspired dishes.
The first time I was introduced to Prego Restaurant we were welcomed at the door by one of the friendly wait staff – who lead us to a perfectly set out table over-looking Cambridge Street, Floreat.
We were handed menus; napkins neatly placed on our lap and were poured a glass of wine. Owner and head chef Joe also came out of his busy kitchen to welcome us to his beautiful, fine-dinning Italian Mediterranean inspired restaurant.
Joe is the head chef at Prego Restaurant, dishes are inspired by his Italian Mediterranean culture – he endeavors to bring simple flavours together to create authentic, melting, mouth-watering dishes.
Derived from the French, degustation commonly refers to a ‘tasting plater’ or sample of the chef’s most inspired and/ or requested dishes.
Our Degustation Lunch
Starting with entrée we were served the Mediterranean Falafel, tahini and a light Mediterranean salad. I would explain this dish as light and fluffy leaving your taste buds wanting more.
For mains I was served roasted Quail wrapped in vine leaves, pine nut risotto & char-grilled prawns, haloumi cheese and an avocado salad. This dish was exquisitely presented with the quail roasted to a juicy, succulent perfection.
I choose the house-made Tortellini filled with Lebanese zucchini, tiger prawns and char-grilled Moreton Bay Bugs as my third dish. There is only one word I would use to describe this dish and that is melting. Each tortellini intricately placed on the dish with plenty of buttery, white sauce drizzled around.
Subtle yet full of flavour we ordered the spinach sautéed with garlic, parmesan, tomato concasse as a side dish.
Yes, I have a major sweet tooth and therefore choose the cioccolatino liquid centre chocolate fondant, scented with orange & cardamom, vanilla bean ice cream. This dish was absolute heaven on a plate, perfectly presented I cut the soft, cioccolatino cake only to have an oozy, thick hot chocolate slowly pour out.
Being my first degustation experience and honestly a truly unforgettable one – I left the restaurant already planning my next venture to Prego Restaurant.
